Only 12 miles due west from midtown Manhattan, Brookside Apartments features an extremely convenient location for any local commuter or someone wanting to be close to New York City without the extreme cost. Additionally, we are less than a mile from Exit 150 of the Garden State Parkway. 

The convenience of Brookside Park directly across the street from our apartments is the most striking feature of our excellent location. Close enough to commute to anywhere in the metropolitan New York area, yet still retaining that small-town community feel is our greatest asset. 


Historic Bloomfield

The Township Of Bloomfield is an extremely historic residential area in Essex County, New Jersey. It was incorporated on March 23rd, 1812, after years of growth and expansion set it apart from the Newark Township, originally founded in 1666. The township took it's name from from the Presbyterian parish of the surrounding area, which was named for then-governor Joseph Bloomfield. 
Much like New York City, Bloomfield itself is a hallmark of diversity, a melting pot of countless cultures dating back from its extensive history. 

According to this CNNMoney.com report, the quality of life in Bloomfield is one of the best in the nation, as the township ranks highly in its "Best Places To Live" annually. Bloomfield boasts an impressive per capita income along with an average incidents of crime at several times less than the national average. 

The Bloomfield Public Schools serve children in pre-kindergarden through 12th grade. Both Franklin Elementary School and Bloomfield High School are less than a mile from our apartments. 

Bloomfield College is a spectacular liberal arts institution founded in 1968 and is located downtown. The College features approximately 2000 students, and actively opens its doors to the community throughout the year.

The Bloomfield College Westminster Arts Center serves as a cultural center of gravity for the township and surrounding area. The center has a full season of music, dance, theater, family fun, and other innovative and exciting events throughout the year. 



Public Transportation








Bloomfield features it's own train station on New Jersey Transit's Montclair-Boonton line. Brookside is within walking distance to several train stops on this line, and is only two stops away from Hoboken Terminal, with access to New York and beyondThe Bloomfield Shuffle, run by the township, is an excellent way to get around. Local bus service is available with the closest bus stop being directly across from Brookside Park. 


Via car or cab, access from Brookside Apartments to destinations could not be easier. If traveling via auto, we are less than a mile from exit 150 of the Garden State Parkway.

    In addition to outstanding opportunities in and around Bloomfield, nearby Upper Montclair is a gift-hunter's mecca, featuring over two dozen gift and specialty shops (for more, see their website).
